Echo In The Fields
David Casparâs upcoming EP âEcho In The Fieldsâ centres on the passing of time as a companion in life and the duality of its nature. Finite as a reverberation of sound, time will catch up to good and bad alike with the gift of true meaning. This EP will be released on November 24th on Two Gentlemen. âTime Is a Thiefâ is an introduction to the theme, a story of walking on glass and surrendering to the inevitability of losing everything you love in time. âDeep Blue Skyâ and âYou Fade Awayâ draw an arc between a sense of meaning, found in love and lost to sorrow. âBerlinâ is a bitter melody of a distant past, whilst instrumental âOne More Dayâ welcomes the prospects of every rising sun. âDeep Blue Sky is about recklessly falling in love, making mistakes and pushing all doubts aside - blinded by yearning and bliss. Craving the loss of control, driving towards a wall too fast and wanting to crash. I wrote the song during a time of deep infatuation, ignoring a lot of things I shouldnât have. It took me a while to pick up the pieces, but what a rushâŠâ - David Caspar Born in the Emirates, David Caspar grew up next to a twin sister playing barefoot in the hot sand. The family travelled frequently â amicably divorced, each of the parents would take one of the twins and meet in a different city several weeks later to swap children. Much of the early 2000s were spent collecting records on a beat-up iPod for long bus rides, leafing through plastic wrapped pirate copies on Bangkok markets and buying buskersâ CDs from the side of the road. Following a multiple month-long trip in Southeast Asia, the family relocated to Switzerland, where David would finish school. Starting to record his own music while living in southern Spain and releasing his debut album four years later from the Netherlands, David would shortly thereafter return to Switzerland to play shows with his band and attend University. While last year saw the national âDemotape Clinicâ award, multiple shows and a sold-out tour of Germany supporting Benjamin Amaru, David Caspar is currently recording in an overgrown cottage in the French countryside and working on new releases. David Caspar will play a few selected shows this summer and support Black Sea Dahu on their Tour in Germany and Austria. - Col. 10"+CD: (Clear Vinyl) Tracklist 10"/CD: A1/01. Time Is A Thief A2/02.
